Can I buy Ethereum if I'm under 18?

Asked 3 years ago

Hi, I really want to start investing in crypto and buy Ethereum, but I'm only 16-years-old. Can I still do it, or would I need to sign up under my dad?

Technically, there are no age limits for buying or mining cryptocurrencies, like Etherem and Bitcoin – though centralized marketplaces like Binance, Coinbase, and PayPal require their users to be 18+. Nevertheless, there are multiple ways of buying crypto that do not discriminate on age. For instance, Purse.io will allow you to swap gift cards for crypto if you are 13+. In addition, there are numerous platforms for buying crypto without the need for identification, like Coinatmradar, Whaleheaven, Bisq, Solid.co, Mycelium Local Trader, Bitzlato, Wall of Coins, Cryptogem, AgoraDesk, etc.

From Abigail to Benayamin Ahmed, the list of 12-14-year-old crypto millionaires goes on and on. I mean crypto is really where age does not matter whatsoever, from passively participating to taking on real technical roles. Like no one cares how old you are if you can build and deploy a smart contract that really works or create a project that is as interesting as every other project out there in the space.

To make it even better, you can do a lot of stuff on-chain in crypto, and the only time you may face legal restrictions is when you decide to move funds to traditional bank accounts which you may not be allowed to operate. If you only need to buy crypto, you can use Biforex and store funds on the Atomic wallet mobile app. There are many other options for buying crypto in an earlier response, although Bitforex is a highly liquid exchange.
