How important is interoperability in DeFi?

I just want to know how important cross-chain interoperability in DeFi.

Initially, the Ethereum blockchain and several other networks competed to own the greatest market share of the DeFi sector. Thus, most DeFi projects were cut off from each other.
However, without any form of cross-chain data exchange between the DeFi protocols, the industry's vision to replace Traditional finance will be ultimately thwarted.
