Can decentralized stock exchanges be hacked?
Asked 4 years ago
My business partners and I have a plan to begin investing in decentralized stock exchanges. We have done a fair amount of research and are certain we can turn a decent profit by year's end. However, some of them have concerns about the security and safety of the decentralized stock exchange. Can it be hacked? Please let me know!

Yes, a decentralized stock exchange can be hacked. For example, in March 2021, PanCakeSwap, a popular decentralized exchange, suffered a DNS attack. The hackers rerouted PanCakeSwap traffic to a malicious server to steal users' login details. However, the exchange's protocol had not been compromised. The hackers were only limited to the front-end of the PanCakeSwap website. The advantage of a decentralized exchange over a centralized one is that as long as the users' private keys are not revealed to the attackers, their funds remain secure. Luckily, the PanCakeSwap team advised its users to refrain from using the PanCakeSwap website until they cleared the mess.
