I can't help but be curious about Nick Szabo. I know he once pioneered the idea of smart contracts, but what does he do for a living today, and where is he from?

Nick Szabo is a cryptographer, computer scientist, and researcher. He is widely regarded as the father of smart contracts, and the ideas gleaned from his digital currency, BitGold, inspired the creation of Bitcoin.
Nick Szabo is a very private individual. However, he is active on Twitter, where he tries to promote decentralization and the merits of cryptocurrencies. Szabo also speaks at public events and champions ideas that will mold the future of cryptocurrencies and smart contracts.
