I always like to keep my wits about me when it comes to my investment portfolio. Are there any risks involved when investing in node projects?

Investing in nodes can enable you to generate a passive income through new tokens. However, like any investment, there're some risks and caveats associated with node investment. They include:
Crypto's volatile nature: As you might be aware, crypto is a risky investment because of its volatile nature. Since your collateral stake and earnings will be in crypto, it will likely experience wild upward or downward swings.
Token collateral: This is a node investor's major expenditure and risk. You need to deposit a significant amount of tokens – up to hundreds of thousands – to earn good returns.
Setup expenses: You must acquire hardware for your first setup, which can be costly based on your needs.
Hosting and management expenses: You will have to pay the monthly hosting and management costs of running a masternode. Although these expenses are high, they usually are less than the earnings you get from operating a node.
