To calculate the Transactions per Second (TPS) of Bitcoin, you must know its block time, transaction size, and block size. Block time is simply the time taken to form a new block in a network. For example, the average block time for Bitcoin is 10 minutes. On the other hand, the block size is simply the size of a block in a blockchain. Bitcoin has a block size of 1 MB. If we have a block size of 1 MB, an average transaction size of 1 Kb and a block time of 30 seconds, we will get a TPS of 33 (1MB/1Kb)/30 seconds = 33.
